Abstract

613,310. Agricultural implements. CLARK, W. June 18, 1946, No. 18274. [Class 6 (i)] A tool mounting for use on ploughs and the like when coupled to and drawn by motor tractors comprises a tool c pivotally mounted upon a frame g, the tool being provided with a tailpiece h having a spring- urged sliding latch i which engages a known spring catch on the support in the form of a bell-crank lever l acted upon by a spring o. The arrangement is such that, when the tool encounters an obstacle, the latch i displaces the spring catch against the pressure of its spring o and the tool swings as shown. To reset the tool, the tractor is reversed and the tool takes up its original position. In a modification the tailpiece projects to the rear of the tool, the bell-crank lever being inverted and the latch placed on top of the tailpiece.
