Abstract

854,760. Agricultural implements. NICHOLSON, A. C. Feb. 4, 1957 [March 21, 1956; June 29, 1956], Nos. 8889/56 and 20273/56. Class 6(1). A steerage hoe of the type comprising a main frame 1 ground engaging tools and road wheels, which is coupled to hydraulic lift mechanism of a tractor, is characterized in that the tools are adjustable. As shown the tools are mounted on auxiliary frames 5 each pivotally mounted on a shaft 3 secured on the frame 1. An arm 10 pivoted on the shaft 3 is provided with a latch 11 which engages in a rack 9 on the frame 1. A spring 17 forces the latch 11 into contact with the rack 9. By withdrawing the latch 11 from the rack the frames may be transversely adjusted. Tools 19, 27, 32 are adjustably mounted on the frames 5 by means of toothed washers co-operating with rack teeth so that the tools may be positively locked in the adjusted position. Steerable wheels are mounted on the frame 1 and are adjustable to vary the height of the frame 1 from the ground. The wheel mountings are transversely adjustable on the frame 1.
