Abstract
819,912. Tractor power-lift mechanisms. MASSEY-FERGUSON Inc. Dec. 12, 1955 [Dec. 13, 1954], No. 35653/55. Class 79(1) In a tractor power-lift linkage the lift arms 55, 61 pivot freely relative to the power actuated cross-tube 25 which has arms 37, 40 with projections 65, 66 engaging the lift arms 55, 61 on the underside so that they are free to float upwardly independently of the power-lift when fully lowered and the implement is passing over uneven ground. The lift arm 55 is welded on one end of a cross-shaft 53 (not shown) rotatable within the crosstube 25 and carrying the lift arm 61 freely pivoted on its opposite end so that the arms 55, 61 may float independently to permit lateral tilting of the implement. The arm 61 may be releasably locked against rotation on the shaft 53 by a bolt 63 engaging a rigid arm 59 on the shaft 53 so that the arms 55, 61 float in unison and prevent lateral tilting of an implement when necessary. Implements mounted forwardly on the tractor are operated through push rods 48, 50 coupled to arms 43, 44 on the ends of the cross-shaft 25 and are operable independently of the rear mounted implements due to the lost motion between the shaft 25 and lift arms 55, 61.
