Abstract
694,559. Inductances and transformers. PHILIPS ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES, Ltd. April 10, 1952 [April 17, 1951], No. 9237/52. Addition to 633,107. Class 38 (ii). In a high-frequency inductance or transformer of the kind forming the subject of the parent Specification in which the coils are in an annular space surrounding a rod 7 and enclosed in a pot comprising cylinder 1 with two end dies 3, 5, the rod and pot being of magnetic ferrite, the member movable to adjust the inductance value is a strip 13 of insulating material such as polyvinylchloride coated with ferromagnetic powder 15 such as ferrite passing through the airgap between the rod 7 and end disc 3 and two holes 11, 11 in the pot. The cross-section of powder 15 varies along the strip 13. The pot may be clamped between two brass end-plates, the strip 13 passing through a slot in the rim of one plate. The strip can be fixed in position by bending the rim or by an adhesive.
