Abstract
803,914. Transformers and inductors. PHILBERTH, B. April 20, 1955, No. 11434/55. Drawings to Specification. Class 38 (2). In order to reduce the magnetic leakage of a transformer or to reduce the effects of external magnetic fields on the transformer, the core thereof is constructed so that each limb of its two limbs has two air gaps therein spaced away from the mid point of the limb towards the yokes, the yokes having a greater cross-sectional area than the limbs and the core and coil assembly enclosed in a screening casing of magnetic material. The air gaps may be formed by the joints between the laminations, the joints extending across the limbs in a direction substantially perpendicular to the limb axis.
