Abstract

687,743. Inductances. GENERAL ELEC. TRIC CO., Ltd., and PARK, K. J. Oct. 29, 1951 [Oct. 27, 1950], No. 26307 /50. Class 38 (ii). Electro-magnetic induction apparatus comprises a laminated iron core made up of two E-shaped parts 10, 11 which butt together at their outer limbs with an air gap 12 between the central limbs, a coil 13 being mounted on the composite central limb so as to surround the air gap, the two parts of the core being secured together and the laminations held against vibration by welds 14 at the outside of the outer limbs where they butt together. Increase in the external dimensions of the apparatus may be avoided by placing the welds in grooves formed in the core parts.
