Abstract
633,107. Transformers and inductances. PHILIPS LAMPS, Ltd. April 10, 1947, No. 9584. Convention date, April 13, 1946. [Class 38 (ii)] The core of an inductance or transformer, which consists of sintered ferro-magnetic ferrite material preferably as set out in Specification 626,946, is in the form of a pot comprising a cylinder 1, end discs 3, 5 and a central rod 7 with an air-gap between rod 7 and disc 3 in which can move an adjusting ferromagnetic member 13 which passes through a gap 11 ground or moulded in the, cylinder. Member 13 may be a layer of ferrite with a binder on a cardboard strip and may extend through holes in opposite sides of the cylinder. In manufacture,. the member 13 may be replaced by a slightly larger dummy member, the core with coil in place filled with insulating material by immersion, the member 15 replaced and fixed into place with lacquer.
