Abstract
734,243. Magnetic compositions. PHILIPS ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES, Ltd. July 7, 1953 [July 10, 1952], No. 18796/53. Drawings to Specification. Class 38 (2). A ferromagnetic ferrite core having an initial permeability which is substantially constant over a range of temperature, comprises two or more layers of ferrite material having mutually differing initial permeability-temperature characteristics over that temperature range. Examples are described in which ring cores consist of two layers of equal or differing thicknesses of nickel zinc ferrites, the proportion of nickel to zinc varying between the layers. These layers may adhere by being moulded from superposed layers of powder, they may be clamped together, or stuck together with a non- magnetic binder, e.g. an ethoxylene resin. The results are illustrated by permeability-temperature curves. The layers may have different Curie points.
