Abstract
825,491. Bobbins. ALADDIN INDUSTRIES Inc. May 6,1957, No. 14377/57. Class 120(3) [Also in Group XXXV] A flanged ferromagnetic bobbin for an inductance coil (see Group XXXV) is formed from a ferrite mixture which may include nickel ferrite, cobalt ferrite, zinc ferrite, vanadium ferrite, zinc oxide, vanadium oxide, iron oxide, magnesium zirconate and lead titanate together with a temporary binding material selected from phenol-aldehydes, melamine aldehydes, urea aldehydes, vinyl polymers and copolymers, polyacrylates, polystyrenes, polyesters, and rubber based materials. In manufacture the mixture is moulded under pressure to form a cylinder 13 and fired for ¢-2 hours at 1800‹F-2500‹F. Unfired apertured flanges 14 are positioned on the ends of the cylinder and on refiring shrink more than the cylinder and so attain a firm fixing Windings 16 are wound and connected to terminals and a magnetic sleeve 21 is positioned on the core. A mixture of the ferrite material with a polyester resin binder is applied and cured at 125‹C. to form sealing masses 22.
