Abstract

689,547. Spray-producers. BOWEN, J. A. Aug. 29, 1951 [Aug. 29, 1950], No. 20423/51. Class 69 (iii). A flexible tube 8 is connected to an upright part 3 of a rigid liquid supply pipe 2, and the length and flexibility of the tube are such that in the absence of liquid pressure its outer end is directed downwardly, and when liquid is supplied thereto its discharge end gyrates about the pipe. The tube outlet may contain a rectangular plate 10 with a projecting pin 11, which causes the outlet to gyrate to a greater degree in one plane. Alternatively, the outlet may contain a funnel-shaped nozzle member 12 with a conical member 14 therein, providing an annular discharge passage 15. A strap 5 secured to the pipe 2 provides a ground support, or alternatively, a spike is secured to the pipe for insertion into the ground.
