Abstract

1481728 Additive supply devices for shower apparatus G W USHER 26 Aug 1975 [23 Aug 1974] 37119/74 Heading A4N [Also in Division B1] Apparatus for introducing a fluent additive into a flowing liquid comprises a tube 5, which may be connected in the riser pipe 1 of a shower, see also Fig. 3 (not shown), for the liquid flow within a casing 4 defining a mixing chamber 6. Additive is introduced into the chamber past a ball checkvalve 17 by squeezing the flexible container 11. The tube 5 has a deflector 20 for deflecting part of the flow from the tube into the chamber 6, and an aperture 21, the arrangement being such that the mixture circulates in the chamber and re-enters the tube upstream of the deflector. The deflector may be an indented slit in the tube. The ballvalve 17 may be kept closed by depressing a pin 18 to prevent backflow when the apparatus is not in use. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 1337200.
