Abstract

1,261,914. Mixing powder with liquid. SILVERSON MACHINES Ltd. 18 March, 1969 [25 March, 1968], No. 14363/68. Heading B1C. Apparatus for mixing a solid with a liquid comprises a vessel 3 into which the materials may be continuously supplied, and which discharges at 15 into a mixer casing 33, through apertures 37 in which the material is expelled by impeller 39. There may be a second mixing device comprising impeller 65, screen 55 and apertures 63 discharging into guide tube 71. There may also be an adjustable impeller 73 within the vessel 3. As shown, the vessel 3 may be mounted within a tank 1 from which liquid recirculates through the inlet 21; alternatively the vessel 3 may be supported by a float in the liquid in tank 1. In another embodiment (see Fig. 2, not shown) the apparatus is disposed between an upper, inlet conduit (113) and a lower, outlet conduit (115) with the mixing devices immersed in the liquid in the lower conduit.
