Abstract

It has a tub (1) which is filled with liquid solder (2) during operation. Two apertures (3) and (4) as well as a circulation pump (6) are provided at the tub bottom (5). A nozzle (7) adjoins the aperture (4). A solder stream (8) flows out of the nozzle (7). A printed board assembly is moved in the direction of the wave (8) for soldering. Located above the liquid solder (2) of the tub (1) is an oil-protection layer (9) which prevents oxidation of the liquid solder (2). So that the solder does not oxidise in the interior of the nozzle, the wall of the nozzle (7) has one or more openings (10) which lead entirely into the oil-protection layer (9). A support with an adjoining baffle plate (12) is to be arranged on the nozzle (7). The free end of the baffle plate (12) leads into a collecting vessel (13). The latter serves to receive the solder stream (8) falling back. The baffle plate (12) prevents spraying of the plunging solder stream to a very large degree. An overflow channel (14) at the collecting vessel (13) provides for a smooth discharge of the liquid solder from the collecting vessel (13) back into the solder sump of the tub (1). Impurities (15) collect in the collecting vessel (13). <IMAGE>
