Abstract

602,873. Spray-producers. VOSE, E. W. Feb. 7, 1945, No. 3132. [Class 69 (iii)] [Also in Group XVII] A device for spraying granulated or other finely-divided solid material comprises a portable container 10 for the material, and a spray nozzle 19 having an injector tube 20 rigidly connected to it and journalled in a wall of the container, so that the nozzle and tube 20 may be moved about the axis of the tube for directing the spray. A motor driven or other supply of air may be provided. The injector tube 20 may have a bevelled exit 21 with the midpoint of the exit coinciding with the axis of the nozzle. The injector tube may be in threaded engagement with a bushing 18 disposed in the wall of the container, or a swivel joint may be provided between the container and tube. The stream of air may be delivered to the nozzle at a low pressure, e.g., from two ounces to five pounds per square inch, and a relief valve may be provided on the nozzle between the injector tube and the air supply.
