Abstract

637,367. Spray guns ; nozzles. PRINTING & ALLIED TRADES RESEARCH ASSOCIATION, BANKS, W. H., and BALLARD, W. E. July 2, 1946, No. 19820. [Class 69 (iii)] In a spray gun for spraying in separate streams two or more reacting solutions, e.g. silver nitrate and a reducing agent, the liquids are fed from inlets 3 and concentric annular channels 6, 7 through coaxial and convergent channels 12, 13 in an intermediate member 9 and the nozzle 15 and are atomized by air passing between the nozzle and an outer casing 23 surrounding it. Air may also be supplied through a central bore 19 in the nozzle from the main air duct 8. An apertured changeable disc 14 is inserted between the annular channels 6, 7 and the nozzle grooves to control the liquid flow. When not used the gun is suspended from a hook having a spring controlled closable valve cutting off the air supply. Specification 596,732, [Group XVI], is referred to.
