A nozzle 1 has coaxial bores 3, 4 and laterally extending slots 5, and the larger bore is closed by a screw 6. There may be three slots spread circumferentially around the nozzle, and they may lie in different planes. A number of nozzles may be screwed along the wall of a pipe, or one nozzle fitted on the end of a stand pipe.
