686,040. Transformers and inductors. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd. Aug. 14, 1950 [Aug. 20, 1949], No. 20138/50. Class 38 (ii). A magnetic core comprises one or a pair of complete loops of radially nested flatwise bent laminations 7 ... 7<SP>11</SP>, 9 ... 9<SP>11</SP> with overlapping ends, the transversely aligned areas 8, 10 of overlap of each alternate lamination being circumferentially spaced by a distance 11 such that one end of one lamination butts against the opposite end of the alternate lamination to provide a joint in which through no transverse plane, e.g. 14, is there less than 100 per cent magnetic material and more than one and one-half times the radial thickness of the core.
