Class 38 (v) In a system for controlling electric motors, complete closure of the contactor A is ensured in spite of a quick release of the starting button D by an automatic momentary short-circuiting of the switch D by means of an auxiliary armature Q which has little inertia and is actuated quickly by stray flux to close contacts U, V. When the main armature P<SP>2</SP> is fully attracted the leakage flux disappears and the armature Q is released. Additional contacts may also be provided short-circuiting contacts adapted to be opened by overload coils so that the contactor completely closes in spite of operation of the latter.
