Abstract

744,537. Control of A.C. motors. IGRANIC ELECTRIC CO., Ltd. March 10, 1953 [March 10, 1952], No. 6571/53. Class 38 (3) A polyphase slip ring induction motor M has an inching button 17 which, when actuated, completes a circuit to the winding 11 of a relay 2CR. Contacts 11a establish a holding circuit for the coil 11, whilst contacts 11b energize the operating coil 1 of a main contactor F which connects the motor to its supply source. Contacts ld are opened at the end of a predetermined time interval following the initial energization of the winding 1, thus opening the holding circuit of the relay 11 and removing power from the motor M. The motor is thereby inched for a constant and predetermined distance following momentary closure of the switch 17. Inching for a period longer than that permitted by the timing mechanism is effected by sustained closure of the switch 17. For continuous operation of the motor M, a push button 7 is momentarily depressed to energize a winding 9 of switch 1CR which is maintained through contact 9a. The closure of contact 9b energizes the winding 11 of the relay 2CR which, in turn. closes contactor F.
