Abstract

694,615. Control systems for electromagnets. TELEMACANIQUE ELECTRIQUE. Aug. 3, 1951 [Dec. 30, 1950], No. 18494/51. Class 38 (iv). [Also in Group XXXVII] In a control system for a lifting magnet E, wherein (a) the magnet is normally energized over switch contacts A1, D2; (b) upon opening of contacts A1 a discharge circuit A2, 8, D2 is provided for the magnet; and (c) operation of a switch having contacts D1, D2 interrupts the discharge circuit and completes a demagnetizing circuit 6, D1, E, A2, 8 to effect release of the load, the contacts D2 are provided with a blowout coil S disposed in the demagnetizing circuit (so that the coil does not have to carry the normal energizing current of the magnet) and a time delay relay is provided for operating the contacts D1, D2 a predetermined time after the closing of the discharge circuit.
