Abstract
673,914. Spray carburetters. WILLE. R. L. Sept. 30, 1949 [Oct. 1, 1948], No. 25156/49. Class 7(iii) In a fuel nozzle utilising compressed air for spraying the fuel, the compressed air, supplied through passages c, t, is divided at s into two or more streams flowing through grooves or bores n, r, and the fuel supplied through passages d, h, is sprayed through orifices o into one or more of the streams, all of which streams are reunited before spraying through an orifice j into the intake air passage. The grooves n are formed in the end of a member g, screwed into the nozzle body b at f, and the grooves r in the end of a member p having an orifice q communicating with the orifices n and held in position by a screwed cap l sealed by a washer u. The grooves n, r, preferably taper towards their inner ends and may be replaced by annular gaps. The fuel is preferably supplied under a slightly higher pressure than the compressed air, but it may be induced by the air suction.
