Abstract

670,961. Automatic voltage control systems. METROPOLITAN-VICKERS ELECTRICAL CO., Ltd. Oct. 21, 1949 [Nov. 1, 1948], No. 28301/48. Class 38 (iv). In a power supply providing two stable voltages, one of which is positive and the other negative with respect to earth, by means of valves in series with the respective power supply lines, one voltage is stabilized against a reference voltage derived from the other circuit, and the second voltage is stabilized against the first. The supply E3 is regulated by a series-connected valve V5 controlled by an amplifier V7 according to the difference between the output voltage and a reference voltage E2 derived from a neon stabilizer S energized by the second supply E1. The supply E 1 is regulated by a series-connected valve V1 controlled by a cathode coupled pair of valves V3. V4. A portion of the sum of voltages E1 and E3 (E3 being already stabilized) is applied to the grid of V3. The grid of V4 is connected to the neon stabilizer S.
