Abstract

954,030. Valve amplifying circuits. PHILIPS ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. Aug. 8, 1960 [Aug. 11, 1959], No. 27400/60. Heading H3W. A variable attenuating circuit comprises a cathode follower 2 connected to the positive supply line, with a cathode load consisting of a series resistor 14, a second valve 12, and another series resistor 13, of the same ohmic value as resistor 14, connected to the negative supply line. The valve 12 has an output potentiometer P in parallel with it and its grid connected to a point of constant potential. When a voltage is connected to the positive and negative supply line, the supply tends to remain electrically balanced about the anode of the second valve irrespective of supply voltage changes.
