Feb. 1, 1950 [Feb. 3, 1949], No. 2597/50 Class 125(ii) In an apparatus for securing to a bottle an annular cap 2 containing a resiliently yielding sealing ring 3 (the closure being completed by a dished member expanded within the annuli), the cap and ring are properly centred by means of a centering pin 10 passing therethrough and through an abutment 4 bearing on the cap and on the face 16 of which the edges 5a of the gripping jaws 5 bear. The jaws are operated by the conical surface 6 of the reciprocating casing 8 and bend the bottom edge of the vertical flange of the cap beneath the bead around the bottle mouth.
