Abstract

768,203. Bottle &c. closures. BAYETTO, A. March 25, 1955 [March 26, 1954]. No. 8806/55. Class 125(3). A closure device for bottles, collapsible tubes and other containers having a peripheral bead 13 on the neck 12 comprises a cap 14, of elastically expansible material such as rubber or polyvinyl chloride, having its lower flange divided by radial slots 15 into flaps 16 and a ring 19 slidable axially in an annular groove 18 in the cap to urge flaps 16 inwardly beneath bead 13. A label 20 may be glued over the cap to form an anti-tamper seal. In a modification, (Fig. 2,) the ring has a rib 29 slidable in a groove 27 in the cap and a string 30 and seal 31 are provided to prevent movement of the ring until the seal is broken.
