660,525. Valves. SUDWERKE GES. Sept. 29, 1949 [Oct. 1, 1948], No. 25048/49. Classes 7(ii) and 7(vi) In, an air-cooled multicylinder engine, each cylinder is provided with a separate rotary valve housing 5, the valves 6 therein being connected together by short splined driving shafts 7, and longitudinal cooling ribs 20 on the cylinder barrels direct a cooling air stream through the spaces 21 between the valve housings. Each valve is provided with ports 10, 12 controlling the supply of combustible moisture or air from an intake port 11 through the hollow interior of the valve to the combustion chamber 13, and a tube 14 through which the exhaust gases pass to the exhaust port 15. The tube 14 is formed of a material, such as steel, of high thermal conductivity and is cooled by the.incoming mixture or air.
