Abstract
651,455. Electric motors. POITTEVIN, M. Nov. 22, 1946, Nos. 34709 and 34710. Convention dates, Dec. 14, 1945, and May 9, 1946. [Class 35] [Also in Group XL (a)] Rotation of the anticathode 30 of an X-ray tube, is effected by a magnetic circuit 37 comprising poles 38-41, poles 38, 40 being excited by circuit 42 and the poles 39, 41 by circuit 43. A ring 36 is fixed on the anticathode 30 which may be magnetic or made of a material similar to the rotor of an induction motor. Circuits 42 and 43 are fed by a common source of direct current 44, and closed successively by switches 45, 46 in the sequence : closure of 45, closure of 46, opening of 45, opening of 46. A magnetic field, of which the direction varies sharply through successive angles, is produced. The direction of rotation of the field may be reversed by switch 47.
