Abstract

1,036,382. A.C. commutator motors. SOC. D'ELECTRONIQUE ET D'AUTOMATISME. March 12, 1965 [March 14, 1964], No. 10584/65. Heading H2A. In a stator-fed single-phase commutator motor the brushes 4 are connected by a rectifier so that armature current induced by the alternating stator flux #a interacts with a constant flux #c on the quadrature axis to produce the torque. Permanent or electromagnets may be used to give the constant flux. The armature is of printed circuit type and may be of cylindrical or discoidal form. In multipolar machines, the armature is wavewound and the A.C. and constant-flux poles may be grouped on opposite sectors of the machine. In the case of planor machines the two sets of poles may form concentric rings.
