Abstract
864,899. Motors. GAUNT, J. G. (Etablissements L. Hatot S.A., des). July 23, 1957 No. 23365/57. Class 35. A motor operating on alternating or pulsating current has an imbricated pole stator with asymmetrically shaped polepieces co-operating with a cylindrical rotor of material of which the coercive field is at least 1200 oersted and the remanent induction has a value between 1500 and 4000 gauss. In Fig. 8 the motor has two stators co-operating with two rotors 1, either the stators or rotors being angularly offset while in other forms stators with one or two windings co-operate with a single rotor, which in one form is disposed between two stator units. Instead of a true cylinder, the rotor could be shaped as shown in Fig. 13, could be formed as shown in Fig. 18, or could be a cylinder with bent plates added to serve as imbricated polepieces. A mechanical device to prevent rotation in the wrong direction can be provided. Specification 746,465 is referred to.
