631,299. A.C. motors. MUIRHEAD & CO., Ltd., and BELL, J. Oct. 17, 1947, No. 27863. [Class 35] In a hysteresis motor the rotor is shrouded with soft magnetic material in the form of a thin sleeve or cylinder which may be formed by a helix of wire or tape. Alternatively the outer periphery of the hard rotor material may be softened by heat. As shown, the rotor has a thin sleeve 12 and a squirrel-cage winding 13.
