Abstract

682,600. Magnetizing. PHILIPS ELECTRICAL, Ltd. Dec. 8, 1949 [Dec. 11, 1948], No. 31528/49. Class 35. A rotary magnet A.C. generator is remagnetized by means of a capacity load with the angle between the field of the magnet and the electromagnetic field produced by the windings reversed. This is achieved by running the machine in the normal direction with the rotor reversed in the stator, or by running it in the reverse direction with the rotor in its normal position. As shown, the windings 2 of the generator are permanently shunted by a condenser 3, and the load 5 is fed through a condenser 4 which shunts the generator when the load is shorted by a switch 6. Running in the normal direction with the rotor in its normal position is said to produce remagnetization along an oblique line 9. Specifications 456,373 and 682,601 are referred to.
