Abstract

604,840. Alternating current motors. GENT & CO., Ltd., and CHAPMAN, E. O. Dec. 5, 1945, No. 32936. [Class 35] In a step-by-step impulse operated motor the rotor has a pair of pole plates 11, 12 axially separated by a disc magnet 20 which gives them opposite polarities, the poles on the plates being mutually staggered to co-operate with stator poles 24, 25 which are magnetized with alternate polarities. As shown, the rotor elements 11, 12 are fixed mutually at right angles and the stator poles 24, 25 extend from either end of the solenoid 13 and so acquire opposite polarities when current impulses are received.
