Drawings to Specification.- [Class 120(iii)] Highly twisted yarns having at least 500 turns per metre are after-twisted from. cross-wound bobbins rotated at a speed of at least 8,000 revolutions per minute, the bobbins having been wound with a traverse ratio greater than 5, determined by the formula K = c TL + d, where K is the traverse ratio evolved from the winding spindle speed in revolutions per minute and the number of complete traverse strokes per minute, T is the speed of the twisting spindle, L is the length of the yarn mass in centimetres and c and d are constants depending on the properties of the materials forming the yarns. For viscose rayon c as given 1/20,000 and d as L/10. Preferably, the weight of the yarn on thebobbin is not less than 500 grams.
