Abstract

648,750. Magnets. BRITISH THOMSONHOUSTON CO., Ltd., BOCOCK, W. A., and SIMPSON, H. Nov. 21, 1946, No. 34539. [Class 35] [Also in Group XXXIX] A permanent magnet 5 is centrally located within a magnetic pot-shaped yoke 4 by a non-magnetic spacing member 6 which is forced on the magnet and engages the inner wall of the yoke by a press fit. An annular air gap is formed between the permanent magnet and a mild steel ring 9 pressed into the yoke. The spacing member may be trough-shaped or formed as shown, and may abut against a shoulder formed in the yoke. The magnet. assembly is clamped to a loudspeaker chassis (see Group XXXIX).
