Abstract

686,743. Loudspeakers. MAGNAVOX (AUSTRALIA) PTY., Ltd. Aug. 27, 1948 [Aug. 27, 1947; Oct. 2, 1947], Nos. 22652/48 and 22653/48. Class 40 (iv). In a diaphragm assembly unit for a moving coil loudspeaker the moving coil 12D and former 12C are located concentrically with the longitudinal axis of the unit so that an inturned flange 11 on the base of the housing, which has a concentric aperture 11E brings the coil into correct operative alignment when the unit is associated with a magnetic unit. The spider 13 and the coil former are set up in relation to the aperture by a jig, Fig. 3, which is a push fit into the housing aperture. In a modification the alignment is assisted by a series of spaced holes for co-operation with similarly spaced dowels on the upper magnet face and a jig suitable for this arrangement is described with reference to Fig. 4b (not shown). Reference is made to Specifications 357,230 and 375,010. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 498,218.
