637,492. Pipe couplings. DELANEY, F. D., and GENITO-URINARY MANUFACTURING CO., Ltd. Feb. 26, 1948, No. 5799. [Class 99(i)] A spigot 4 has a rigid sleeve 8 which forms an annular space 9 to receive a socket 3 and has an inner face 12 engaging the outer face 5 of the socket to retain the latter in position when the parts are relatively rotated . The surface 5 may be eccentric and outwardly flared, the face 12 being an arc forming a crescent-shaped enlargement concentric with a tapered surface on the spigot. The co-operating surfaces 5, 12 may be circular with one or both eccentric, or may have inter-engaging cam faces.
