[Class 122(iii)] [Also in Group XXVIII] A rubber or rubberlike ring 13 is bonded to the inner and outer cylindrical surfaces of connection pieces' 10 forming a pipe coupling (see Group XXVIII). The ring has central or offset grooves 16 at the ends. A thin diaphragm 27 of polyvinyl chloride and fabric may be applied to the groove at one end. The ring may be tapered.
