623,282. Pipe joints. EVERY, C. E. (Gustin-Bacon Manufacturing Co.). April 24, 1947, No. 11024. [Class 99(i)] A flexible joint for plain end pipes is of the kind in which a ring 11 of resilient material, such as rubber, is placed around the pipe 10 adjacent its end and compressed against the pipe by means of interengaging members, such as a pipe fitting and coupling nut, and is characterized in that the ring is fixedly bonded to the pipe without distorting the pipe wall. The bonding may be effected by the " Cycleweld " or " Pliobond processes.
