777,749. Ball and socket pipe joints. ZEPHYR LAUNDRY MACHINERY CO. Jan. 10, 1955 [Jan. 18, 1954], No. 702/55. Class 99(1) As shown the joint comprises a socket member which may be of carbon and a sealing member 5. Member 1 is threaded at 11 for attachment of a member such as a rubber hose or conduit and member 21 is threaded at 50 to permit connection therewith of rubber hose or piping. The external pressure may be greater than the internal pressure and the external pressure assists sealing of the joint.
