[Also in Group XXVI] A pipe joint is sealed by a packing ring 1 made of nylon and having a T-section, the stem 2 of the ring being compressed between the pipe ends 3, 4 and the ends 5 of the cross limb embracing spigots 6 on fittings 7 secured to the pipes which are drawn together by a clamping ring 8.
