632,591. Screening-apparatus. MAILLEFER, E. L. March 24, 1947, No. 8030. Convention date, Sept. 25, 1942. [Class 46] [Also in Group II] Screening apparatus for sifting or separating dry or moist-materials comprises a vibratory frame 1 carrying the screen or sieve 6 and supported at its ends by angularly adjustable resilient links 8, and a device such as an unbalanced wheel 21 driven from a source of power on and intermediate the ends of the frame for imparting a vibratory motion to the frame. The frame 1 as shown is supported at the centre of the links 8 which may comprise rubber blocks or flexible metallic members and each link 8 is secured at its ends to a rigid member 13 adjustably fastened to a support 14 by shaft bolt 15 and nut 16 which enable the members 8 and 13 to be adjusted as to their inclination to the sieve. The frame 1 in side elevation has a longitudinal profile tapered towards the ends, both sides of the frame being united by means of rolls 4 on which the sieve gauze 6 may be fastened by means of a tightening device consisting of adjustable cams 5.
