Abstract
412,559. Sifting - apparatus. HAMP, A. H., 20, Leicester Road, Oadby, Leicester. Dec. 22, 1932, No. 36332. [Class 117.] In apparatus for sifting sand, lime &c., the screen is carried in a horizontal or inclined position by pivoted arms, or in slideways, and means are provided for imparting an oscillating or shaking motion longitudinally to the screen. As described, a screen comprising bars 8<a>, Fig. 4, at the sides and one end, and a wire or other mesh surface 8<c> is bolted to brackets 9, or two longitudinal bars, mounted on an oscillating frame comprising two transverse bars 7 supported by links 6 pivoted to the base frame 1. The sieve is actuated by a connecting rod 17, Fig. 1, from a crank shaft 12, mounted on the frame 1 and driven either by a source of power outside the sifting apparatus or by means of an internal-combustion engine 23, electric motor &c. carried thereby so as to make the apparatus a self-contained unit. The material passing through the sieve is discharged laterally by an inclined shoot 26. The apparatus may be mounted on wheels 30. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 5211/90, 22338/05, 2685/06, 13277/06, 3480/11, 109,571, 209,785, [all in Class 117], 380,643, and 383,665.
