Abstract

592,690. Sifting-apparatus. GUEST, J. H. May 26, 1945, No. 13229. [Class 117] A sifting-machine comprises a framework 3 with an open crown, a sieve support suspended below the crown from links 7, a walled sieve 12 readily detachable from the support, and a power-driven crank connected to the support whereby it is oscillated. As shown, the support consists of links 8 connected by rods 10 which are provided with cams 11 locating the sieve 12. The cams may be adjustable. The support is driven from a motor 13 through a transverse rod 9 and connecting rod 18, a crank-pin on a pulley 16 and reduction gear 14, 15. In a modification, the sieve is detachably secured to the support by means of brackets with sockets fitting on to pegs.
