Abstract
417,280. Sifting-apparatus. BUHLER BROS., Uzwil, Switzerland. Oct. 20, 1933, No. 29095. Convention date, Oct. 21, 1932. [Class 117.] In grits-cleaning machines &c., the sieve 2 and collecting trough 3 are separately suspended from the frame by links 5, 6 and the trough is freely oscillated by a mechanism moving therewith such as an unbalanced rotary pulley 1 as described in Specification 202,995, [Class 80 (iv)], and communicates its movement to the sieve by means of a rod 8 which is sufficiently rigid to transmit thrusts in the direction of its length but is flexible in a direction at right angles thereto. An adjustable spring 7 holds the sieve in the median position. The bracket carrying the pulley may be joined to the trough on a vertical or inclined bearing surface. The apparatus described comprises two sieves and troughs side by side.
