Abstract

'[Class 117] [Also in Group XXX] In apparatus comprising a sieve, conveyer duct or the like capable of being oscillated, the sieve or the like is rollersupported on rails, the inclination of which to the horizontal is adjustable during operation apparatus. In a frame 1, Fig. 1, having the usual free-swinging or eccentric drive, are mounted a sieve cloth or mesh 2, and two axles 3, Fig. 2, on the ends of which are mounted rollers 4 suppported on rails 5. Each pair of rails 5 is secured by set-screws 6 to a shaft 7 moving in bearings 8 mounted in the machine frame 9. Each of the shafts 7 may be moved through a small angle by a lever 10 secured to it by a screw 11. With the rails 5 parallel to the cloth 2, as in Fig. 1, the material to be sifted moves in the direction of arrows a. When the rails 5 are inclined at an angle x, the material moves in the direction of arrows b, and when inclined at an angle B the material moves in the direction of arrows c. A conveyer channel or pipe may take the place of the sieve 1.
