Convention dates, Sept. 25, 1937 and Sept. 5, 1938. [Class 117] Vibrating machines such as a sieve a, separator, conveyer &c. are vibrated by a reciprocating mass o connected by resilient means such as leafsprings p to a frame which is carried by the machine, and is adjustably mounted thereon so as to vary the direction of vibration. In the arrangement shown, the reciprocating mass consists of a central part o with reciprocating movement, driven by a fluid or electro-magnetic motor, and connected by springs to two side masses q. The frame consists of two bars e and arms f pivoted to the sieve a approximately at ' its centre of gravity, and angularly adjusted relatively to the plane of the sieve by struts k and clamps h. The sieve is supported by springs b In a modification, the mass may be'in a single piece and move against springs interposed between its ends and the frame, which may be mounted in trunnions carried by the sieve. The supports for the trunnions may be adjustable at various angles to the longitudinal central vertical plane of the sieve. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91, also comprises the subject-matter of Specification 523.095. This subject-matter, does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
