Abstract
691,304. Balancing forces in machinery. STAHLBAU, F. K. Sept. 30, 1949 [Oct, 1, 1948; July 1, 1949], Nos. 25196/49 and 25197/49. Class 80 (iv). [Also in Groups II and XXX] Sieve parts 1, Fig. 1, are supported on corresponding frame parts 2 by springs 6 and by adjustable rubber springs 11 at the centres of gravity, the frame parts being supported on base parts 3 by springs 4 and 5. The two sieve parts 1 and the two frame parts 2 are connected by spring couplings 9 and 10 respectively so that an. eccentric drive 14 reciprocates levers 15 pivoted to a frame part 2, the levers 15 working in and between the parts of springs 16 mounted on a sieve part 1 to vibrate the two systems. In another form, Fig. 3, conveyer (or sieve) parts 1 and 2 are supported in corresponding frame parts 3 and 4 by fixed springs 12 and adjustable springs 8 and 9, the frame parts 3 and 4 being supported by springs 6. The conveyer parts 3 and 4 and frame parts are coupled together respectively by levers 13 and springs 7 and the whole is driven by the crank shown, which crank oscillates lever 10 pivoted as frame part 3 and moving in and between the parts of spring 11 connected between parts 1 and 3. The masses and springs are so chosen that the vertical and horizontal reactions neutralize themselves. The springs 12 may be replaced by pivoted levers sprung about their pivots and the drive 20 may be replaced by a drive on levers 13.
