Abstract
698,223. Sifting-apparatus. KLOCKNERHUMBOLDT-DEUTZ AKT-GES. Nov. 2, 1951 [Nov. 3, 1950], No. 25707/51. Class 117 A screen, which vibrates at the resonance frequency of the oscillating system, comprises two masses, the first constituted by the screen casing 1 and the second, a counter mass vibrating in opposed phase, by a frame 4 surrounding the screen casing. Both masses are supported from a base structure 3, the screen casing by inclined reinforced laminated wooden springs 2, and the frame 4 by links 5 and springs 12 of small elasticity. The masses have their principal sections lying in a common plane, when at rest, and oscillating springs 8, arranged in openings in the frame 4, are positioned between the latter and a bracket fixed to the screen casing. A thrust rod 10 connected to said bracket through a resilient coupler, Fig 3 (not shown), is driven by a motor 19 mounted on the base 3 and a crankshaft 18 supported by the frame 4. The base structure 3 is supported from the ground by spring 13 and restrained longitudinally by springs 20. The screen, which acts as a jigging conveyer, is fed from a shoot 14 capable of tilting on a bearing for angular adjustment and discharged from shoot 15. In another embodiment the apparatus is suspended from an overhead frame structure, Fig. 4 (not shown).
