Abstract

790,861. Vibrating tables for concrete moulds. CARTER, A. C. and PLOWMAN, J. M. March 9, 1956 [April 1, 1955], No. 9583/55. Class 87(2). A vibrating table for concrete or the like moulds has two or more electromagnetic vibrators which apply vibrations to the underside of the table top at two or more points so located that minimum bending moments are applied to the table top. The table top is a rigid unit fabricated from four channel-shaped members 1 reinforced by cross members 2 to each of which is attached an electromagnetic vibrator 20. The table top is resiliently mounted on a rigid framework 17 by cylindrical springs 15, the compression or tension of which is adjustable by varying the diametral force applied by a smaller cylindrical spring 21 and adjustable bolts 19 and nuts 24, 25 so that the frequency of vibration of the table top corresponds closely to that of the vibrators, thus allowing the maximum vibrating energy to be transmitted to the material to be vibrated. The mould is secured to the table top by lipped clamps 4 which are held normally open by springs 7 (not shown) and closed by nuts 6. Specification 788,514 is referred to.
