Class 117 [Also in Group XXX] A sieve in the form of an annular trough 40, a part 41 of which consists of wire mesh is supported by a rigid dished plate 42 carried by leaf springs 44 mounted on a base plate 45 and is vibrated by an electromagnetic vibrator (not shown), mounted between the parts 42, 45. The mesh of the part 41 may increase in size along its length. The parts are so arranged that the trough moves along the vertical axis passing through its centre and rotates about that axis simultaneously when the vibrator is energized.
